Today, I want you to understand that Knowing God, growing into intimacy with the Holy Spirit and becoming Christ-like is a lifetime journey – a marathon, not a sprint.
So don’t be hard on yourself.
It takes time to know God
You are human – flesh and blood
You will rise and fall, fall and rise.
You will sin
You will make mistakes
Nothing you do can be a surprise to God
He already knew everything you will do
All the sins you have committed, and the ones you will still commit in the future
And He still lovingly, fearfully and wonderfully created you in His own image
He still sent Jesus to die for you
And still loves you the same exact way He loves Jesus
He factored all that in and prepared His Mercy as a way out for you.
So don’t ever feel condemned.
The One who made you does not and will not condemn you
So the next time satan comes with thoughts of condemnation or guilt or inadequacy about something you did, tell him:
“This is a family matter between me, my Father – Abba, my brother – Jesus, and my Guarantor – Uncle Holy Spirit. And the last time I checked, you are not a member of our family. So – SCRAM before Michael come woze you slap for me. You remember Michael, don’t you? He’s the one that pursued you from my Father’s house”
If you cannot remember all that, just tell him – “I rebuke you in Jesus name” with the full consciousness that you are under the protection of the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and that He has given you the full authority to use that name against every nonsense.
Don’t ever forget that God loves you with all your ‘skoin skoin’ – past and present.
He will catch you no matter how many times you fall.
So, refuse to stay down.
What do you think you can do that will make God give up on you?
After Adam and Eve fell, God still killed animal and used the skin to sew clothes for them
After Cain killed Abel, God still put a mark on him that nobody should kill him
Rahab was a prostitute
David slept with a married woman and killed her husband
The Samaritan woman at the well was a serial divorcee
Peter denied Jesus
Paul actively hunted and persecuted Christians
And so many more examples.
Relax your mind, dear siblings
You are in good company
God get us complete for hand in orisirisi formats
It’s not only mansions that are full in His house
Children sef full.
Sometimes I visualize God like a Parent with multiple toddlers scattering everywhere
One throwing tantrums
One trying to climb wall
One sleeping
One pouring water everywhere
One pulling God’s hair
One using marker to paint God’s throne
One trying to wear Jesus sandal
One trying to pluck the wings from a Cherubim
One yelling for the Holy Spirit to ‘cayi me’
One chewing the Book of Life
And the Angels wee just be doing ‘mo ya lookaway. Na You say You wan born pikin. Now dem don full everywhere, doing scatter scatter”
Na we be those toddlers.
And we have the most Father of all fathers as our Father
The One who says:
“Can a woman forget her baby? Can she forget the child who came from her body? Even if she can forget her children, I cannot forget you. I drew a picture of you on my hand. You are always before my eyes“
Isaiah 49:15 – 16
Let your confidence be in that love
As you learn to have a consistent Prayer and Bible Study Life, as you learn to trust and submit to Him, as you learn to befriend and depend on the Holy Spirit, know that He is with you every step of the way.
If you don’t pray today, He knows. You will pray tomorrow.
If you struggle with reading the Bible, He knows – you will get better.
You are finding it hard to forgive, He knows – He will help you
You lost your temper and said the wrong things, He knows – change is a process
You feel like challenges are overwhelming you, He’s there – carrying you
You feel like He is far away, He is not – He is surrounding you on all sides.
This week, remember this:
You are NEVER EVER ALONE!
You are loved
You are valued
You are precious
You are God’s!
